brown girl dreaming
by Jacqueline Woodson

To anyone who thinks that biographies are boring, let me tell you about an amazing must-read book, the story of author Jacqueline Woodson’s childhood. It is called brown girl dreaming (yes, all lower case!) and you won’t want to put it down. Follow Jackie and her siblings as the family moves from Ohio to Greenville, South Carolina to Brooklyn, and absorb not only what she did but how she felt along the way.
The power of the story and the beauty of her words will stay with you for a long time. This book gets my highest recommendation …5 stars!
