Alaska may very well be on people’s minds here in Rochester, after the winter we’ve just had, and if you can stand one more story about cold and snow, I have the book for you!!
Make yourself a cup of hot chocolate and snuggle down to read Ice Dogs, by outdoors-woman Terry Lynn Johnson. This story about Victoria Secord, a young musher and her team of dogs, is full of adventure and suspense. I guarantee you will keep turning the pages. In fact you may find you will read it in one sitting! If you are a fan of Hatchet, by Gary Paulsen, I would highly recommend this book! And if you are interested in Alaska, you will love the detail that makes you feel like you are right in the middle of the snowy wilderness.
